What services do you provide for Designers?

We convert your designs from a PSD, AI, EPS, JPEG or PNG file into a HTML & CSS code. Our code complies with all current web standards. We can take this a step further and convert your design to a functioning theme or template for a variety of content management systems such as WordPress and Drupal. We can also convert your design into fully branded E-Mail templates for use in mailshots/newsletters.

How do I get a quote?

The quickest and easiest way to get a quote is by contacting us with your requirements. Simply fill in all of the relevant fields and select all of the options you require. As you complete the form, the project price will automatically update.

We know that this can be a little daunting for our non-technical clients, so do feel free to pick up the phone if you have any questions at all. Our advisors will be happy to pour over your project requirements and forward a quote to you.

After you have submitted your order, it will be reviewed within one business day. If there are any questions on our part, your project manager will contact you. After all of the details have been fully ironed out and are fully understood on our end, we let our developers loose on your design!

What do I need to give to Darvu to get this project rolling?

A copy of your design in a layered PSD format. Why layered PSD you may ask? While we always strive to adopt a CSS oriented approach to development (i.e. we favour using CSS over images), it is often useful for us to be able to select background images, textures, etc. from your design for use in the conversion. We can also accept non-layered formats, just get in touch to let us know what you have!

Designs in flat formats (non-layered) will take longer to deliver. i.e. JPEG, GIF, AI, EPS, PNG, non-layered PSD. If you plan on submitting your designs in AI or EPS format, please be sure to include all external images and fonts used within the design. Please ensure that your design uses RGB colour space. We can convert designs from CMYK to RGB, however colour accuracy will need to be reviewed by the client before we can start development.

Do you provide a confidential service?

Yes, absolutely. While we love to be able to show off our work, we appreciate that our clients may not want us to feature their projects on our site. With this in mind, by default, we will not feature your design in our portfolio. If you are happy to have your project appear in our portfolio, just click the “ I want to feature this project in the Darvu Portfolio” checkbox when ordering your conversion. Regardless of your choice, we handle ALL of your project details in the strictest of confidence.

I’m worried about handing my design over to a third party…

This is normally the first concern of our new clients. We would like to assure you that your design remains your property at all times, we NEVER share or discuss your details or your project details. Furthermore, any code created during the coding process is also considered your property after payment has been received. Once again, just to confirm, we NEVER share your details, your designs or contact your clients.

What are your opening hours?

We are based in Limerick, in the West of Ireland. Our opening hours are Monday to Friday 09:00 AM — 18:00 PM GMT and are subject to DST (Daylight savings). We are closed for Irish public holidays – you can find a detailed list here!

We employ a hardy crew, who love what they do, so do feel free to drop us an email if you require support out of hours, it may just be picked up overnight! No guarantees here though!

How long does a PSD to HTML or PSD to WordPress conversion take?

As a general rule of thumb, it takes approximately one working day to convert one design to HTML5 & CSS3 code, however this will depend on the complexity of the design.

You will see an approximate delivery date during the quote process – after you submit your order, we will review your requirements before starting and will contact you if we have any questions or find anything that may delay delivery. At this point we will lock down a specific delivery date. If you are in a rush to have a specific project delivered within a short time frame, let us know. We can assign priority to you project, however this will require additional developers and as such will incur an additional charge.

What fonts can I use?

We can use Google Web Fonts, @font-face, Cufón and other methods available by request. If you wish to use a custom font, you will need to include it with your project files and also please be sure that you have a licence to use it on your website.

Which browsers do you support?

All of our sites are fully compatible with: Firefox 4+, Safari 4+, Opera, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer 9+ and iOS browsers. If you specifically require support for IE8, please let us know.

Do you provide support?

Yes, we give you 30 days free support with each project. After the 30 days, you can still of our support on a paid basis. Please note that revisions (i.e. changes to your initial design) are not covered by support. For this reason, we would encourage you to only place orders for approved designs.

How can I contact your support team?

You can contact our support via E-Mail at support@darvu.com or alternatively, you can log a ticket here: http://helpme.darvu.com/. Support is available Monday to Friday, 09:00 am — 17:00, GMT.

How do you handle revisions?

We are happy to make minor revisions free of charge (before delivery of source code). Any large revisions, which are not part of your original design, will need to be quoted separately. Our recommendation: To avoid any surprises here, we would encourage you to include only approved designs in your order.

If you require any changes after we have delivered the source code, simply contact our support desk and we will be more than happy to quote you for the changes.

Can you provide Mobile device compatibility?

Yes, you just need to select the “Responsive/Mobile” option when creating your project order. Our responsive sites are tested on iOS7+, Android 4+ and Windows Phone8.

Responsive sites allow your design to be displayed differently on devices with small screens (i.e. phones and tablets).

What screen size should my design be?

Standard desktop designs should be 1000px wide. If you are selecting the responsive option, please include two additional designs: 768px wide for tablets and 480px for phones.
